- a mixture in which a mineral " melts" into another one

- a slab of mineral that is very different from the surrounding rocks
Outline
Introduction
diamonds mare formed by enormous presser and heat change carbon atoms
When the pipe erupt, it bring diamonds to the earth surface.
the pipes may be found in South Africa and Australia
Processes That Form Minerals
minerals can be formed in two ways
through crystallization of melted materials
through crystallization of mineral and water mixture
Minerals From Magma
the mineral's size depends on what enviroment it's surrounded by
if it is left undisturbed and heated, larger crystals will form
if it is cooled rapidly, smaller crystals will form
Minerals From Hot water solutions
sometimes, the water in the sea seeps into the cracks in the mid-ocean ridge
the water is heated to high heat by the magma
minerals are dissolved into the water
since hot water rises, the water is forced out a tube called a chimney
Minerals Formed by Evaporation
minerals can be dissolved in water
when the water evaporates, the minerals are left behind
Were Minerals Are Found
Earth's crust is mostly made of minerals
you can find most minerals around volcanic activities
